Time to make a list

I am conscious of not having Simoned recently, so I've bought pork belly and will be attempting one of his pork recipes soon.

Meanwhile, since I'm stuck in the house and I'm still trying to simplify my life, I thought I'd make a Sara-specific basic storecupboard list (and eat up everything else that's in the cupboards til they look like this):

  • Spices: black peppercorns, sea salt, chilli flakes, paprika, nutmegs, vegetable stockcubes, beef stockcubes, saffron stalks, truffles.
  • Wet: olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, sunflower oil, lemon juice, longlife milk
  • Dry: brown sugar, self-raising flour, plain flour, bread mix
  • Tins: tomato soup, baked beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, sardines or pilchards, anchovies
  • Bits: brown rice, deCeccio pasta, Mr Mash, risotto rice, white beans, coffeebeans, coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, crackers
  • Condiments: ketchup, marmite, honey, jam, dijon mustard, horseradish
  • Fridge: gouda cheese, milk, butter, tomato paste, chorizo
  • Frozen: mixed soft fruit
  • Fresh: yams, onions, lemons, apples/pears, garlic.

And there are some Simon bits to keep too: mace, cloves.

Fair cop: I'll change the list. Although I never have worked out what you do with all those leeks. Is there something you need to tell me about?

1. Pork with pink peppercorns and leeks
2. Creamed leeks in the same manner as the creamed chicory simon
3. Fried leeks as part of a standard fry up
4. Baked leeks with melted halumi
5. Grilled chicken with leeks and mustard... The list is endless. Basically anywhere you can use an onion, consider a leek instead.

I'd add bananas to the list for deffo ... and dried mixed herbs ... and skin-on tinned in spring water new potatoes (for frittatas and salads) ... and possibly frozen lemon/lime wedges (the future of ice cod beverages IMO). I'm also quite partial to a weetabix :)

PS. That would be ice COLD beverages ... not ice cod which would just be weird.

PPS. With you on the leeks SJ, despite good intentions they usually end up slightly squidgy in the bottom of our fridge (except on rare occaisions when pie happens).
